My name is Amanda Castello, originally from Italy, with a rich educational background and extensive teaching experience that spans multiple countries and languages. Currently, I serve as the Didactic Coordinator at Betzy’s School, a role that leverages my diverse skills and passions in education and administration.

I began my educational journey at the University of Catania, where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Science for International Communication. I furthered my education with a PGCE in Spanish with French from the University of East London, affirming my linguistic prowess in Italian, Spanish, French, and English. My academic and professional experiences in different countries have honed my ability to engage effectively with an international community.

My teaching career started in earnest at Cheney School in Oxford, UK, where I taught Spanish and French to students aged 11 to 18. Here, I not only taught languages but also took on significant responsibilities such as training new teachers, which developed my mentoring and managerial skills.

Before joining Betzy’s School, my career included placements in diverse educational settings, from Acton High School in London to volunteer work at Decoy Primary School. Each position reinforced my capabilities in classroom management, digital education tools, and curriculum development. Additionally, my earlier work in customer service roles, such as at Old Parsonage Restaurant, enriched my interpersonal and problem-solving skills, essential for educational administration.

At Betzy’s School, my role as Didactic Coordinator allows me to shape educational strategies that incorporate the best of international educational practices. I am passionate about using my background in languages and my experience in teaching to enhance the educational journey of our students, making it as enriching and comprehensive as possible. I am driven by a commitment to fostering an environment where children can thrive in learning languages and cultures from an early age, preparing them for a globalized world. I look forward to continuing to contribute to Betzy’s School’s success and to the personal and academic growth of our students.
